Advanced System Security and Centralized User Adminstration
VPI CAPTURE offers Web portal-based access and comprehensive security for the protection of collected data – secure login via LDAP integration or direct, encryption, file watermarking, audit trails and automated alerts.
|Roles-based Access Control and Security – The VPI application provides a common-model security application. Administrators are able to define roles and rights as desired and then assign those roles/rights to individual users. The administration interface allows end users to create any number of parent-child nodes or relationships to completely map an organization’s hierarchical structure. This structure is then used for providing data-level security to limit what information people see and what they can do - typically from their point in the hierarchy and below, though this can be overridden depending on the hierarchy rules of a given organization. The hierarchy structure and rules can be adopted directly from Active Directory via LDAP integration.|
|Simplify Administration with LDAP Integration – VPI supports connectivity to LDAP (Active Directory) to provide for centralized security management. The LDAP directory provides two main functions: user authentication and data synchronization. Though it is ideal to use both of these functions, it is possible to use user authentication without data synchronization and vice versa. This approach to authentication provides a single centralized management of users and passwords, eliminating the need for user ID and password to be stored in the VPI database. Additionally, it ensures user IDs and passwords conform across the enterprise with any corporate guidelines that have been established for user and password conventions.|
|Secure File and Data Transport and Storage Encryption The VPI recording solution uses built-in end-to-end data encryption using strong cryptography and key management to secure the SQL database that holds attributes of all recordings. The media manager provides for AES 128, 192, 256 or variable bit encryption/decryption when files are stored and accessed from the media manager. VPI supports secure protocols including Secure Socket Layer, Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) or Internet Protocol Security (IPSEC) to provide secure transmission of recordings and associated data over the network.|
|Ensure Authenticity with File Watermarking – To further secure sensitive information, every call within the VPI application is wartermarked in real time to ensure authenticity. VPI offers a powerful application to validate the authenticity of any WAV file.|
