C#/C++ Software Developer

This position will play a critical role on the development team charged with software analysis and design of enhancements for VPI’s cutting edge digital voice/video recording software.

The successful candidate will possess 5 years’ experience with MS Windows NT systems level C#/C++ programming, multithreaded/NT service layer application design. Java experience also desirable as well as experience in programming to database APIs such as ADO and ODBC and programming to XML. Experience with multi-threading and sockets is critical. The candidate must be well versed in web technologies and tools, including HTML, HTTP, JavaScript, CSS, and Windows browsers including a strong understanding of common protocols such as HTTP. Other experiences will include: building real-time and near real-time systems, working in the telephony environments and APIs, deep understanding of OOP methods and design patterns. The candidate must be used to working in a rapid development environment with a focus on quality of service and a demonstrated ability to employ industry best practices in the SDLC, including development and documentation.

Strong oral/written communications are required; telecommunications or call center industry experience preferred.

Cisco Channel Sales Director

The Sales Director for Cisco Channels at VPI, is responsible for building upon our high touch channel centric strategy specific to the Cisco channel in the North American Channel Markets. The main responsibility includes creating and delivering high impact channel programs and initiatives targeting Cisco Business Partners and Cisco Channel Account Managers. Other key responsibilities include recruiting, training and driving new business through Partner marketing, advertising, sales promotions, training, and other reseller-related support such as sales conversions of VPI solutions; presentations and software demonstrations with a high-level technical understanding of VPI’s integration with Call Manager and UCC environments.


Qualifications for this position: Minimum of 5 years of Channel Sales experience with a consistent record of over achievement and performance awards. Must possess a strong working knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications platforms. Experience in working at Cisco or with Cisco Channel Program a plus. Excellent oral and written communications and significant experience in giving presentations, software demonstrations and solution selling to the “C” level. Must have a history of managing and growing significant annual top-line revenues. Minimum 5 years experience in software solution sales with voice and data experience a strong plus. Must be self-motivated, capable of working in a fast paced environment. Experience at a fast growing emerging organization a plus. References from channel partners and distributors helpful.

Manager, Professional Services

VPI is growing! We are seeking to add a Manager to the Professional Services group. Under the direction of the Director of Application Development & Release Engineering, the Manager of Professional Services will work closely with customers and VPI sales staff to define, architect and develop cost effective software solutions that tailor VPI products to customer needs.

This position will provide project leadership and customer communication during all phases of a project that involves customization of VPI products. This will include developing, updating and maintaining the project plan, functional specifications, documentation and system design specifications, determining resource requirements and availability, analyzing and communicating project risks to the customer and to VPI management, and overall management of internal and external resources within budget and project schedule.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated to quickly gain a thorough understanding of VPI software applications, application APIs and underlying data model. He or she will have experience collecting requirements and details from customers, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects with minimal direction.

This position requires an undergraduate degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience, 2-5 years of relevant experience in a software environment, knowledge and experience with HTML, SQL, XML and databases, Superior English language skills are required to effectively communicate orally, via e-mail, and for creating written documentation. Knowledge of telephony environments is a plus.

Quality Engineer

VPI is expanding its quality assurance team and seeks an additional Quality Engineer. VPI Quality Engineers are key to ensuring successful product readiness prior to release. Working closely with product development personnel, Quality Engineers are responsible for using their thorough understanding of VPI’s suite of products and integrations, and experience with quality assurance methodologies to improve VPI’s quality assurance standards.

Responsibilities include developing test plans for validating proper operation of software applications, software integrations, data repository and data collector products, including fully documenting procedures and communicating results. Working in parallel with product development, the Quality Engineer will select test automation tools, define and track QA metrics, and lead the team that implements approved test plans.

The successful candidate will show initiative, curiosity, cooperation, exceptional time management and project prioritization abilities. He or she will be expected to expeditiously gain a thorough understanding of VPI product specifications and be deadline-driven with all testing projects.

This position reports to the Director of Engineering and requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, 5+ years of successful experience in a software development environment. Must have knowledge of QA methodologies, experience in creating quality assurance plans, using automation tools and utilities, 2+ years of software development experience in C, C++, C#, Java or VB, a solid understanding of Windows Operating Systems, and exceptional written and oral English communication skills. Windows 2003 Server, SQL, XML and/or Firebird databases a plus.

The Senior Database Engineer reports to the Director of Application Development and is responsible for all aspects of our database architecture and implementation. Responsibilities will be to lead and be responsible for the design and development of the data architecture used by our commercial applications; design and create database objects such as schemas, stored procedures, and triggers. Implement ETL, data collection, and data warehousing tasks, and reporting.

Requires 3-5 years of full-time SQL Server development experience. Expert level in the following: SQL Server programming (stored procedure, T-SQL, views, functions, etc...); performance monitoring and optimization (SQL Profiler, Indexing, Execution Plans and Update Statistics) and database modeling and design — 1,2,3 Normal Forms, star and snowflake schemas. The position requires 5+ years of demonstrated experience with cutting edge technologies, working with highly scalable web applications using Visual Studio 2005/2008 and ASP.NET 2.0/3.0/3.5 (C#/VB). Also requires knowledge of and experience with AJAX, WCF and web 2.0 technologies to build dynamic and interactive web pages.
