C++/C# Software Developer

As a C++/C# Software Developer with one of the industry leaders in voice and data technologies, you will play a critical role in the design and development of services used to provide VPI customers with informative, real-time feedback about their businesses: to interface, collect, and display data from telephony and other business systems, providing critical, real-time information.

VPI's software development team is responsible for designing, coding, documenting and implementing customer computer software for a wide range of projects including multi-platform audio or video recording, data collection, media and data management, data analytics and display, and creating utilities.

The successful candidate will possess 5 years’ experience with MS C++/C# programming, building real-time and near-real-time systems, multithreading and service level application design and creation. Must be well versed in the concept of distributed application architectures, and have a good understanding of MS SQL for data access and storage.

Knowledge of telephony environments and API's highly desirable as well as front-end GUI skills - web and/or thick client.

The successful candidate will also be comfortable in a rapid development environment with focus on quality of service and a demonstrated ability to employ industry best practices in the SDLC, including development and documentation.

Strong oral/written communications are required; telecommunications or call center industry experience preferred.

Corporate Trainer

VPI is expanding its corporate training services group!  Reporting to the Training Manager, the Corporate Trainer will design, develop, control, analyze and market training methodologies, products and services to VPI customers worldwide.  This position will create and deliver high-energy, interactive training via classroom, web based distance learning, and conference calls, and will manage responses to all training and technical assistance requests from external and internal customers.

Responsibilities include communication with all departments to assess internal training opportunity needs, provide internal organization training in support of all products, services, content, processes, methodologies and initiatives, provide training updates to customers and dealers encompassing training issues important to each, report progress and areas for follow-up following completed training sessions, track post-training evaluations and continually seek new training methods and supplementary materials to enhance the training program and results.

The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of similar experience in a high technology environment, be computer-literate with proficiency in MS Word; Excel and PowerPoint (media design software experience a plus), possess superior English language skills (multi-lingual a plus), demonstrate superior group consultation and facilitation skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills.  This position requires 50% travel, including some evenings and weekends, the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, improvise on your feet, and to successfully perform in a fast-paced environment.

VPI is growing! We are seeking to add a Manager to the Professional Services group. Under the direction of the Director of Application Development & Release Engineering, the Manager of Professional Services will work closely with customers and VPI sales staff to define, architect and develop cost effective software solutions that tailor VPI products to customer needs.

This position will provide project leadership and customer communication during all phases of a project that involves customization of VPI products. This will include developing, updating and maintaining the project plan, functional specifications, documentation and system design specifications, determining resource requirements and availability, analyzing and communicating project risks to the customer and to VPI management, and overall management of internal and external resources within budget and project schedule.


The successful candidate will be highly motivated to quickly gain a thorough understanding of VPI software applications, application APIs and underlying data model. He or she will have experience collecting requirements and details from customers, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects with minimal direction.


This position requires an undergraduate degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience, 2-5 years of relevant experience in a software environment, knowledge and experience with HTML, SQL, XML and databases, Superior English language skills are required to effectively communicate orally, via e-mail, and for creating written documentation. Quality Engineer

VPI is expanding its quality assurance team and seeks an additional Quality Engineer. VPI Quality Engineers are key to ensuring successful product readiness prior to release. Working closely with product development personnel, Quality Engineers are responsible for using their thorough understanding of VPI’s suite of products and integrations, and experience with quality assurance methodologies to improve VPI’s quality assurance standards.

Responsibilities include developing test plans for validating proper operation of software applications, software integrations, data repository and data collector products, including fully documenting procedures and communicating results. Working in parallel with product development, the Quality Engineer will select test automation tools, define and track QA metrics, and lead the team that implements approved test plans.

The successful candidate will show initiative, curiosity, cooperation, exceptional time management and project prioritization abilities. He or she will be expected to expeditiously gain a thorough understanding of VPI product specifications and be deadline-driven with all testing projects.

This position reports to the Director of Engineering and requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, 5+ years of successful experience in a software development environment. Must have knowledge of QA methodologies, experience in creating quality assurance plans, using automation tools and utilities, 2+ years of software development experience in C, C++, C#, Java or VB, a solid understanding of Windows Operating Systems, and exceptional written and oral English communication skills. Windows 2003 Server, SQL, XML and/or Firebird databases a plus.

Technical Writer

 VPI is seeking to add to its technical writing staff-employee or contractor basis. The ideal candidate will be an experienced technical writer preferably with experience documenting computer technology software and systems. Knowledge of telephony systems and networking is a plus. Responsibilities include the research, design, development and maintenance of documentation (printed & online manuals, tutorials, and online help) for VPI software. Candidate will need to develop documentation project plans and timelines by researching and evaluating new documentation tools and methods. Must be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills are required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and interviewing skills are necessary for success in this position. Must have the ability to absorb and retain information quickly (specifically complex technical information). Must analyze target audience and present ideas in a user-friendly, concise, and effective manner using the appropriate language and visuals. Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives is a must. Candidate must be highly self- motivated and directed with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Bachelors Degree, or equivalent experience, with at least 3-5 years work experience including but not limited to: Hands-on technical writing and editing experience, with specific experience in documenting computer technology software and systems. Knowledge of information gathering, planning, and organizing methods and principles. Microsoft Office 2007 (Word and Visio); Adobe InDesign CS4, Acrobat Standard/Pro; HTML authoring ability is a plus.

Under the guidance of the Director of Application Development, Web Application Developers play a critical role in the design and development of a wide array of products that provide VPI customers with informative real time feedback about their business. Responsibilities include design, coding, documentation and implementation of customer computer software applications.

The position requires 5+ years of demonstrated experience with cutting edge technologies, working with highly scalable web applications using Visual Studio 2005/2008 and ASP.NET 2.0/3.0/3.5 (C#/VB). Also requires knowledge of and experience with AJAX, WCF and web 2.0 technologies to build dynamic and interactive web pages. Successful candidates will be well versed in current web technologies and tools, including HTML, HTTP, JavaScript, CSS and Windows browsers, have an understanding of object oriented design, and experience building data driven applications to SQL Server and other relational database systems. Experience with Silverlight 2.0 applications is a plus.
