How many separate channels is the recording system capable of recording?

VPI supports an unlimited number of channels. Up to 192 channels can be recorded via one server. An unlimited number of servers can be connected for any size voice recording system, in increments of 4 channels.

Does the recording system support seamless access to multiple modules for channel expansion and growth?

Unlimited number of modules can be combined for seamless access for redundancy, channel expansion and growth.

Is the recording system capable of accepting data from an external database source and post the alphanumeric field to the appropriate recorded call? Is this data field available as a potential search field to easily locate the archived call?

The proposed system is capable of accepting data from an external database source. Multiple fields are provided for collection of custom alphanumeric attributes, whether added manually in ad-hoc fashion, or automatically through integration with third party systems. For example, a case number can be added to calls for later search and retrieval.

In the addition, the system provides an option to color-code calls with different tags, as defined by an end-user. The tags can be used as search criteria.

What is the recording system's internal hard drive storage capacity in channel hours and megabytes?

VPI's applications are compatible with a variety of standards-based server platforms and may be equipped with different number and size of hard drives for internal storage capacity, according to the needs of each user. The baseline internal storage capacity involves dual 250 GB hard drives in RAID1 configuration, which translates into 30,000 channel hours of storage capacity. Additional internal capacity is provided via additional and/or larger hard drives. As an option, our clients can extend the internal storage capacity with network based storage devices such as NAS or SAN affording virtually unlimited number of storage hours

Is the compression ratio user-selectable? What are the ratio options?

The compression rate is 13.3Khz GSM. Our standard configuration utilizes Microsoft-native 13.3 KPS GSM compression, which compresses a 10-minute voice transmission into a 1MB file .WAV file format. Recordings in this format can be played back using any standard Microsoft software tools with no need for any decompression or decoding of the voice recording.

Does the recording system keep track of time and date, even when there is no recording taking place?

Yes, VPI's systems keep track of date & time continuously, even during the time periods when there is no recording taking place.

Does the recording system allow an operator to select any channel or channels for real time monitoring?

Operator or any user with appropriate rights can select any channel or channels for real-time monitoring - this is available with both, LAN /WAN “rich” client and Internet browser based client.

What type of printers does the proposed system support? Are printer(s) provided as part of the proposal? What is the warranty period on the printer?

VPI does not sell printers, but VPI's systems support any Windows compatible printer for printing reports. Our recording system allows you to print labels for DVD Media for long-term storage. If you are interested in taking advantage of this feature, we recommend the Brother TP9200 printer.

Does the recording system have the ability to record and/or recreate all silent portions of the interaction during playback?

When recording, VPI's system provides constant linear date/time tracking for real-time "as recorded" playback, including the reproduction of silent periods for the purpose of non-event verification, whether or not the silence was originally recorded (depends upon the recording trigger selected). The recorder represents silence in the original recordings in a form that does not consume space for silent audio, yet can be recreated during playback.
